Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know if I need therapy?

Are you ready to feel confident as a mom? Are you ready to feel more connected to your partner? Are you ready to feel less overwhelmed by parenthood? If you answered “yes” to any or all of these questions, then you are ready to get started with therapy.

You may wonder if getting to a calmer place in your life is really possible. But you’re not alone: so many women have been where you are right now. After making an investment in themselves—financially, physically, and mentally—they were able to find the peace and balance they were seeking.

What is your approach to therapy?

While we all have our own unique therapy styles, we use the same framework. We are big believers in the family as a unit and the importance of family dynamics on someone’s mental health.

What is the difference between coaching and therapy?

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

Do you take insurance?

Allison, Yvette, and Nicole are in network with United Healthcare, Oscar, Motion Picture, Aetna, and Cigna Insurances.

Chelsea is in network with Cigna.

How do I know if I have postpartum depression and/or anxiety?

You may not always be able to tell if you have depression or anxiety during the postpartum period. Some important questions to consider include: Do I feel like my pre-baby self? Am I losing any sleep due to feeling worried or sad? Is my partner or a family member worried about me? Am I struggling to make sense of my feelings and/or thoughts?

If you answered “yes” to any or all of these questions, we encourage you to schedule a consultation with us. During the consultation, we will work together to determine if starting therapy with one of our clinicians is the right course for you or if there’s a need to refer you to another specialist.

What is the Gottman Approach to couples therapy?

The Gottman Approach includes practical, emotion-focused, and highly effective tools that couples learn in sessions and practice in their day-to-day life in order to compassionately manage their conflicts, deepen their friendship and intimacy, and share their life purpose and dreams. It is based on Drs. John and Julie Gottman’s four decades of research with more than 3,000 couples. It is the most extensive study ever done on marital stability and divorce prediction.

What is Emotion Coaching?

Emotion coaching is an approach to parenting that emphasizes the caregiver’s role in teaching the child how to identify, navigate, and problem-solve through their emotions. This approach allows caregivers to connect to their child in an entirely new and healthy way.
