Meet Cait Ismay, AMFT

Attuned. Empowering. Compassionate.

About Cait

Trauma and anxiety can make it hard to connect with our most authentic, empowered selves—and sometimes even harder to see the joy and success that might already be within reach. I believe every person holds an innate capacity to heal, even when your strength feels out of reach. You don’t have to walk that path alone, and I’d be honored to walk alongside you, offering tools, support, and encouragement as you reconnect with your resilience.

Who I Work Best With

I work best with individuals who are open to exploring the deeper layers of their experience — not just what’s happening now, but how past wounds, patterns, or unspoken emotions may still be shaping how they feel, move, and connect in the present.

I especially support:

  • Teens and young adults navigating anxiety, identity, self-worth, or relational struggles

  • Survivors of trauma, including childhood trauma, relational wounds, and intergenerational pain

  • Clients exploring their nervous system, body-based triggers, or patterns of disconnection

  • Individuals in the perinatal season — pregnancy, postpartum, or parenthood — seeking support from a trauma-informed lens

You don’t need to have all the words — or even know exactly what you’re feeling. If you’re willing to slow down, get curious, and explore your healing with care and compassion, this may be a good fit for you. I’ll meet you wherever you are with warmth, steadiness, and support.

My Approach

My approach is warm, collaborative, and humanistic. I work somatically, meaning we’ll tune into how your body and nervous system are holding onto stress or trauma, and gently support release and regulation over time. I’m trained in Brainspotting, the Trauma Resiliency Model (TRM), and also draw from attachment work, family systems, and mindfulness.

I’m especially passionate about working with trauma—whether it’s rooted in childhood, relationships, identity, or intergenerational patterns—and I love supporting teens and young adults as they find their voice and build self-trust in the midst of life’s uncertainty. I'm also passionate about perinatal mental health, and will bring a trauma-informed lens to this powerful, transitional season of life.
