Meet Cait Ismay, AMFT
Warm. Intuitive. Grounded.
About Cait
"The best way out is through."
This simple quote reflects the heart of my work: walking alongside you through the darkness toward healing, clarity, and self-trust.
I became a therapist because I’ve always felt drawn to people’s emotional worlds—and because my own journey through healing taught me the power of safe, attuned connection. I bring my full, authentic self to the therapy room, creating space for yours to emerge too.
Who I Work Best With
I specialize in working with teens, young adults, and adults navigating:
Trauma or PTSD (including complex trauma and intergenerational wounds)
Anxiety, depression, or OCD
Challenges with boundaries, family dynamics, or identity
Marginalization, cultural trauma, or societal injustice
I feel honored to support individuals from diverse backgrounds, including BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ clients, as well as those exploring their relationship with self-worth, joy, and resilience.

My Approach
Therapy with me is a warm and collaborative process. I believe your symptoms often make sense in the context of your story. That’s why I work from a trauma-informed, attachment-based lens, always attuning to your lived experience, culture, and nervous system.
I draw from Brainspotting, somatic and inner child work, parts work, and resourcing practices. Whether we’re making space for grief, setting boundaries, or gently meeting old wounds, my intention is to help you feel grounded and seen.
I show up as a real human—warm, thoughtful, sometimes a little goofy. Clients often say I ask the "right questions," or that they feel safe to feel what they hadn’t allowed themselves to before.
You can expect:
A space to be fully yourself
Support and curiosity, never judgment
Moments of laughter, metaphor, and honest reflection
Our work together is always guided by what feels most supportive and meaningful to you.
